JONESY “2” LP DEAD BEAT

Info

JONESY’s second album, “2", marks a major leap forward for the band. “2" bears a lot in common with their epic debut predecessor. Mainly in that it’s still steeped in the swingin’, grimy first wave sounds of THE NEW YORK DOLLS, DEAD BOYS and THE RAMONES; but on “2" they go much further than that. On their supercharged sophomore album they expand their sonic territory incorporating more riffy Hard Rock elements that we’ve only caught glimpses of in the past. It’s as if SLADE, ROSE TATTOO, THE DICTATORS, STATUS QUO, UFO and TEENAGE HEAD all coalesced into one wild ‘n hedonistic Rock ‘n Roll riff machine hellbent on revamping Rock ‘n Roll for a whole new hornier generation. On “2", big riffs and monstrous choruses collide with a massive arsenal of vintage guitars and high-voltage, power chords as JONESY play their good ‘ol fashioned sleazy Rock ‘n Roll with hooks. And they continue to flex their snarky, lyrical tongue exposing a series of eloquent, anecdotes and sexed-up tales electrified back to life in a way that only JONESY can oh-so hilariously put into words. Top shelf, guitars blazing Action Rock all over album #2 including a turbulent kaleidoscope of Wurlitzer ‘n Hammond organs swirling in the mix to give it that classic mid-70's Arena Rock flair. Cover art by burgeoning Montreal artist Laurine Haddock with accompanying whimsical lyrics-sheet insert included.
