THE POINTED STICKS "The Real Thing/Out Of Luck" 7" SNAP!!
Info
A band that takes its name from a Monty Python sketch is always welcome at Snap!! But when they’re as good as this Canadian group, their inclusion is a sure thing.
Formed in Vancouver in 1978, they were quickly grouped with the new wave of punk-rock bands emerging in Canada; however, it soon became clear that melody was central to their sound. They leaned closer to power pop, without ever abandoning that raw punk energy. This style yielded three singles and an LP—all released on the Quintessence label—before they became the first Canadian band to record for Stiff Records and subsequently disbanded in 1981. They reunited in 2015 and continue to record and tour worldwide.
This release is a reissue of their second single—originally put out on the Canadian label Quintessence in 1979—featuring the melodic "The Real Thing" and "Out Of Luck," a true classic of high-octane power pop.
